Les Chants de Maldoror and The Bible trough the Bestiary Iconography
Abstract
In this article we show that the main work of the Count of Lautréamont, Les Chants de Maldoror, has been largely gestated under the influence of the great prophetic book: the judeo-christian Bible. This was evidenced more clearly through the Count´s bestiary. The purpose of this iconographyc alteration is the creation of a reversed Bible whose ultimate goal is the teofobia and, as we shall see, the deicide practice.Downloads
