Who returned to Bogota’s city centre? An approach to the population transition process before the arrival of COVID–19

After more than half a century of public investments and rescue plans for the central city, the question remains: who has returned to the city centre? To explore this, a cross-sectional study is proposed to analyse the demographic profiles of people arriving in the central city before COVID-19 emerged. Methodologically, the article compares data from official sources with a pilot survey conducted through social media, which not only offers an initial snapshot of the new residents of the central area but also prompts reflection on virtual methods, their scope, and limitations.
