This article presents the results of a survey carried out among more than eighty translation project managers. The aim is to define the competences that this professional needs for his or her work. It is part of broader research that aims to develop a framework of competences for translation project managers. After the analysis of a corpus of job advertisements for project managers and a study of the teaching guides of Spanish universities where this subject is taught, this work takes as its starting point the information provided by the professionals themselves in order to complete the competences delimited in previous work and triangulate the data sources.
