Metaphor is a powerful instrument of innovation, generation and specialised conceptualisation of terms in the scientific discourse. In this research, the subjacent metaphor of the neologism ‘Carbon Capture and Sequestration’ in the subdomain of climate change is analysed from the point of view of the theory of Frame-Based Terminology. It is an English-Arabic corpus-based case study. The results compare the metaphoric model of the neologism, originally created in English and its Arabic equivalent, created through translation processes which implies the transfer of its metaphoric frame.
