Más allá de la innovación tecnológica. Esbozo de las dimensiones sociales y estructurales del periodismo digital

Resumen

Este artículo reflexiona sobre la dimensión formativa e investigadora del periodismo digital en la Universidad española. Parte de un análisis prospectivo de las principales líneas de trabajos y tendencias dentro del contexto internacional en el periodismo digital de las últimas dos décadas para señalar líneas de estudio y retos de futuro para las universidades españolas en esta materia. La descripción permite incidir en que muchos de los estudios de periodismo digital se han centrado en analizar cómo las tecnologías digitales transforman los procesos, las prácticas y las normas periodísticas. Se concluye señalando la necesidad de un mayor planteamiento de la dimensión social y estructural del periodismo digital, más allá de la faceta tecnológica, capaz de enmarcar la disciplina en una ecología mediática y social más amplia.
