Abstract

Objectivity, reliability and validity are basic requirements of any scientific research. Studies of digital discourse analysis should take it into account, especially in areas with high social impact such as the analysis of political discourse. In this article, we introduce MarcoPolo, a tool implemented to comply with these requirements, respecting the licensing restrictions of the corpus and making research accessible to a more general public. It allows us to browse through the corpus using more than 10,000 graphics. They represent the lexical uses on Twitter of the five most voted parties in Spain and their candidates between October 2015 and June 2016. We describe the design of this platform, how it works, and some examples of its functionality for researchers of the digital discourse.
