Author Guidelines

  • Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively through the OJS platform (Submissions > Make a new submission). Authors must register on the platform (in the case of co-authorship, only one author needs to register).
  • Articles must be original, unpublished, and not under review by another journal.
  • The publication language of the journal is Spanish.
  • Authors must ensure that all images, tables, graphs, etc., are original. If they are not, proper permissions for their use must be obtained.
  • All submissions are subject to double-blind peer review.
  • All communication between the editorial team and the authors will be conducted through the OJS platform.

Peer Review Process

Submitted articles will be reviewed, and a response will be provided within a maximum of three months.
The review is carried out by external reviewers using a double-blind peer review system. In case of discrepancies, a third reviewer will be appointed to make the final decision.
Communication with authors is conducted via the manuscript submission platform.

Format and editorial standards

Articles must conform to the template format, which can be downloaded from this link: article format. We ask authors to copy sections of their work and paste them over the corresponding section of the template, maintaining the template format in all respects. Style Guidelines

The article title should be as concise as possible (recommended maximum: 12 words).

Abstracts in both Spanish and English (100 words each) must be included, along with 3–5 keywords in both languages.

Articles must not exceed 15,000 words, including tables, graphs, references, and bibliography.

Bold and underlining should not be used in the body text. Italics may be used sparingly to highlight specific words or concepts.

Paragraphs must be indented (0.75 cm) and not separated by double spaces (either manually or automatically).

Graphs, tables, and illustrations should be placed within the text at the corresponding location, accompanied by appropriate titles and legends in Times New Roman, size 10.

Footnotes should be indicated with superscript numbers (no parentheses), placed before punctuation, and appear at the bottom of the page in Times New Roman, size 10, single-spaced and justified. Notes should be used sparingly.

Direct quotes of fewer than 40 words must be enclosed in Spanish angle quotation marks (« »). Quotes exceeding 40 words should be placed in a separate indented paragraph (0.75 cm) without quotation marks and separated from the main text by a blank line. References should follow APA Style, 7th edition.

Words or phrases cited as examples should be italicized. Word meanings should be enclosed in single quotation marks (‘ ’).

The bibliography section must not be numbered. Only references that were actually cited in the article should be included.

In-text citations must follow the author-date system, as per APA Style, 7th edition.

More than three authors: (Val-Llovera et al., 2010)

Multiple works by the same author: (Herring, 1996a, 1996b)

For the bibliography, APA Style (7th edition) must be strictly followed.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • 1. I confirm the authorship and originality of the manuscript submitted, which has not been previously published or submitted to another journal.
  • 2. I declare that I will not submit the article to another journal until RELEVa communicates the result of the evaluation process.
  • 3. The file submitted is in Microsoft Word format.
  • 4. If the article includes images, illustrations, figures, or tables, these are inserted within the text at the appropriate place, not at the end of the document.
  • 5. I declare that I hold the publication rights for all images, illustrations, figures, and/or tables included in the article.
  • 6. The manuscript adheres to the article format and style guidelines provided in the “Submissions: FORMAT AND EDITORIAL GUIDELINES” section of the journal.
  • 7. If submitting an article for anonymous peer review, I have ensured that no identifying information is included in the file.
