In 1964 he published an edition of Viejas historias de Castilla la Vieja, which had first appeared four years earlier. This edition is published with a twenty of realistic photographs by Ramón Masats far from neopictoralism, which largely took ethnographic photography up to the 1950s. The publication is part of a pioneering publishing project, the Word and Image collection of Lumen publishing house. The two languages endorse the same poetics, that of neorealism, and a landscape, that of rural Castile. In this work we will analyze the dialogue established between the word and the image in this emblematic edition.
