Fragmentarism without ellipses

There are some novels, such as Raquel Taranilla’s Noche y Océano, which can be considered fragmentary narrative, but they work with a very different mechanism from the usual fragmentarism. They are not based on the ellipses, on the absence or dissapearance of information or data, but they are narrated without lack of continuity, with a constant lineality which connects different stories, anecdotes, theories, quotations, etc. through a unifying voice. This novel offers an excess of information that produces a necessarily fragmentary reception, since the reader creates elements of indeterminacy due to the impossibility of assimilate the narrative material.
