Abstract

Starting from the idea that translations are part of the host literary system, this paper analyzes the Spanish ethos of the Romanian author Mircea Cărtărescu, as communicated in the verbal peritexts of thee books published by Impedimenta publishing house.

The analysis highlights a ″federal ethos″, a dynamic and heterogeneous image of the author, which feeds simultaneously on the six axiological paradigms established by Boltanski and Thévenot: The Inspired World, The Domestic World, The Industrial World, The Market World, The Civic World and The World of Fame.
