Abstract

The study is based on the theory of fiction worlds (L.Dolezel) and typology of modes in literature of fantasy (Nancy H.Traill) which are being applied to the short prose by José María Merino (the prose was published from 1982 to 2006). The study enriches the panorama of the worlds of fantasy, it defines a new mode, socalled anormal, thanks to which new possibilities to deal with the modern literature of fantasy have been opened for further research.
