Lyrical novel and intimate diary in Mortal y rosa
Keywords:
liric novel, intimate diaryAbstract
This paper proposes a reading of Mortal y rosa, perhaps Umbral’s best novel, as a lyrical novel and, to some extent, a diary as well. For this purpose it will draw the concepts of both narrative genres. Once the theory is established, i twill show the characteristics of these genres in the novel, pointing out the traits of Umbral’s writing: a delicate poetic style, where image and essayist digression reigns, in a multigeneric frame.
