In the reading of a text, the proximity of segments and words may produce undesirable effects, contiguities that could lead from the known ambiguity to confusing, deceptive or surprising interpretations. The effects of such contiguities (not always as simple as in “Socks are sold for wooden gentlemen”) may be remedied normally in four ways: punctuating the sentence according to the rules, reinforcing the punctuation, creating remarks and relocating segments inside the sentence. Our research focuses specially in these four sections and they are illustrated with examples of the current press (not previous to 2016).
