This study examines how primary school textbooks for Spanish Language and Literature address oral expression within the framework of linguistic communication competence, specifically focusing on the oral component, in accordance with the provisions of Order 157/2022. Through the analysis of six textbooks from the Edelvives publishing house, FanFest collection (2022), an imbalance is identified between the proportion of activities focused on oral expression and those focused on written expression. The study concludes that, although there is a clear effort to integrate communicative competence, further investigation is required to develop and propose tasks that address all the strategic competences within a single competence, thereby promoting the comprehensive development of students' communicative skills.
