Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on the mental health of children and adolescents. This study analyzes the repercussions of lockdown and social distancing measures, increased screen use, changes in healthcare demand, and the need for a comprehensive approach that considers mental health in a cross-cutting manner. There has been a significant increase in consultations for eating disorders, tics, and obsessive-compulsive disorder, as well as a worrying increase in suicidal ideation and suicide attempts among minors, accompanied by a significant worsening in health perception. In response, the proposal is to promote positive parenting, community care, and consolidate an intervention model focused on the rights and participation of minors, with a global perspective that incorporates the regulation of digital environments.
