The personality of Francisco de la Maza is becoming more relevant since he has been recently documented as working in the high altarpiece of Astorga cathedral at the orders of Gaspar Becerra. This paper aims to trace his artistic career, defining his style. Besides, it is documented the exact year of the transfer and placing to the parish of Villalverde de Justel (Zamora) of the altarpiece that he made for the monastery of Nogales (León) –after the 19th-century ecclesiastical confiscations–, and two new sculptures are attributed to him in Simancas and in Cigales, villages of the province of Valladolid.
