In this study, twenty unpublished works are incorporated to the catalogue of the Sevillian painter José María Romero. Most of them are religious works – a mariological series and several devotional paintings – and are located in the ‘Casa Generalicia’ of the congregation ‘El Rebaño de María’ (Cádiz). Until now, only a very limited number of them was known. Finally, we bring to light an interesting and unknown example of the pictorial genre in which Romero was an authentic master – the portrait –, with a canvas depicting the Count of Ybarra that is preserved in a private collection of Málaga.
