Martin de Vandoma is one of the most relevant carvers of the Sigüenza-based workshops of the central decades of the 16th century. His artistic biography can now be reconstructed with greater reliability from the documentary data published in recent years. The analysis of the high altarpiece of Alconchel de Ariza, which is a well-documented project, has made it possible to verify that the artist had previously worked in other localities of the region of the Community of Calatayud (Zaragoza) such as Paracuellos de Jiloca, which, unlike Alconchel, were not part of the arciprestazgo of Ariza, dependent on the bishopric of Sigüenza. The study of these two commissions is part of a review of Vandoma's work with special attention to his main creative milestones.
