Any fiction film provides, in its duration, a series of information which help the audience to build a coherent, meaningful story. Pedro Almodóvar, a filmmaker especially concerned with the narrative practice, introduces in Volver (2006) a new model that, besides forcing the film viewer to continually check the expectations and hypotheses generated, is ruled by pauses and informative delays shaped as musical, televisual, or cinematic intertexts.
