Agro-ecology can be seen as a nature-based solution and meets the standards set by the International Union for Conservation of Nature: contribution to biodiversity and ecosystem integrity, economic viability, inclusive governance and adaptive management. The analysis of three of the most important Green infrastructure plans in Navarre, the Basque Country and Valencia depicts the inclusion of agricultural areas with natural and cultural values. Their functioning would be strengthened by integrating ecologically managed agricultural areas, either as core areas, ecological corridors or buffer or regeneration zones. While it is common to find high nature value agriculture in the former, the latter is an area to be explored.
