This article analyzes the principal mutations of Spanish poetry between 1975
and 2005, with relation to the ideological, cultural and philosophical discourse of that
period. The post-modern condition converts itself into an emblem of a new
sensibility, a cause for inspiration and an object for diverse critiques. In keeping with
this undertone, the poetic generation of the democracy reactivates the debates between
figuration and abstraction, realism and vanguard, re-reading of tradition and the will
to rupture.
