God, religion and religiosity in the work of María Victoria Atencia
Keywords:
God, Catholic, Bible, Mary, angelsAbstract
María Victoria Atencia is a poet and abeliever. Since childhood she was educated in schools where she learned themain truths of the Catholic
faith. Thus she started creating essential linkswith God, and after going through the dark night of the soul, she reconverted, poetically and
personally, the biblical figures of Martha and Mary, Lazarus’ sisters, into one, with which she feels totally identified. Her revision of Mary’s role (Jesus’ mother) makes her question cultural Jewish positions which she does not share.
