Miguel Delibes or the Intimate Hiding Spot of the Narrator: The Cinematographic beat in Las ratas
Keywords:
Miguel Delibes, Las ratas, literature and cinemaAbstract
Delibes’ narrative technique, who had scarce literary formation, was influenced by his background as a journalist and by his lifelong fascination with cinema. This influenced is visible in the expressive clarity, the emphasis on focalization and a mimetic easiness to express the internal voice of each character, letting them be the ones to make themselves known. In the cinematographic adaptation of Las ratas the word takes a step back and lets the image speak.
