This article aims to analyze research works on emotions in the context of the PE class published from the 2010 onwards in open access databases. Databases consulted were Google Scholar, REDALYC, REDIB, Dialnet, SciELO and DOAJ. Among the criteria for inclusion, we privileged original studies available in full text format. Results indicate that, during the years considered, all the articles refer to and have emerged in the Spanish context and that much of the works has focused on the study of emotional perception –followed, with considerably less attention, by emotional competence and perceived emotional intelligence–. The journal that has published more studies on the subject is EmásF, digital Magazine of Physical Education and the approach most used has being the quantitative, followed by the qualitative and, finally, the mixed approach. The knowledge exposed in this paper might be useful for professionals of Physical Education, so they can reflect on their teaching work and develop strategies to promote their students wellbeing.
