Author Guidelines

Ágora para la Educación Física y el Deporte (Agora for Physical Education and Sport) is an open access journal that publishes peer reviewed articles. It appears once a year. The journal doesn’t apply any cost to authors who can submit their articles during the whole year, except in August.

1. WHERE TO SEND THE ARTICLES?

Authors interested in publishing in Ágora para la Educación Física y el deporte should send their papers through this website.

When submitting an article through this website, in the "Step 3. Introduction of submission metadata", do not forget to indicate your name and email address, and title of the article, keywords and abstracts in Spanish and English. To do this, select the "Spanish" language in the box that appears at the top of the page and include the data in Spanish; then, select the English language in the same box and enter data in English. You must also fill the box "Affliation", indicating the name and mailing address of your institution and your academic category.

2. PEER REVIEW

The manuscripts will be reviewed by two blind referees. The reviews are anonymous for authors and reviewers. In this sense, all clues to the identity of the authors must be eliminated throughout the manuscript. Based on the referees’ reports, the decision will be communicated to the first author and, where appropriate, the changes suggested.

3. PAPERS’ BASIC FEATURES AND REQUIREMENTS

Template: It’s available in this link, agoraefyd-template

Key words: Maximum five terms, in Spanish and English (plus the manuscript language, if other).

Style: A good research and a dense academic essay improve if they are exposed clearly and simply. Criticism of ideas can be done without belittling others.

Tables, graphs and figures: Tables should be numbered before its title. The same applies for graphs and figures.

References and author citations: According to APA7 rules. For instance, depending on the case, (Elias, 1987), (Elias and Dunning, 1987; Varela, 2000), (Elias, 1987, p. 32), Elias (1987, p. 32). If several works by the same author were published in the same year, they should be differentiated by letters (a, b, c, etc.) following the year of publication.

When there are two authors, cite them both, always using the 'and'. Use et al. in all citations of a work with three or more authors, provided there is no ambiguity regarding the source.

When there is more than one works cited, order them alphabetically, separated by semicolons.

Quotes of less than 40 words will be inserted within a paragraph and will be highlighted by quotation marks.

Curabitur "hendrerit nisi vel ante lobortis convallis” (Sparkes and Maher, 1991, p. 23).

If the quotation has 40 words or more, it will be written in an independent paragraph, it will go without quotation marks and with an indentation on the left side of 0.75 cm.

Others: If possible, avoid footnotes.
