Call for Submissions

The Editorial Board of ES Review. Spanish Journal of English Studies is pleased to announce its Call for Submissions for Issue 47 (2026).

ES Review. Spanish Journal of English Studies, a refereed international journal published anually by the Department of Filología Inglesa at the University of Valladolid, cordially invites submission of original manuscripts in the form of articles and book reviews, written in either English or Spanish, on all major areas of English Studies.

The journal seeks an emphasis on the linguistic, literary, and cultural connections between Spain or Hispanic America and the English-speaking world, and is particularly interested in articles and book reviews in this area. Nevertheless, as always, it welcomes all high-quality, critical contributions across the broader fields of English Language and Linguistics, Literature and Criticism, History and Culture, Translation Studies, Philology and Textual Studies. Research on ELT and Didactics will be considered only if it is data-driven and, in particular, when it falls within the scope of Applied Linguistics. Descriptive reports of an experiential or testimonial nature do not fall within the scope of the journal.

Please submit your proposals between 1 December 2025 and 31 March 2026. The expected date of publication is Autumn 2026. Submissions throughout the year are also welcome and will be considered for publication, though their inclusion in the current issue cannot be guaranteed.

ES Review is freely available online on its open-access website and may also be accessed in full text through DOAJ, LION, MLA International Bibliography, REDIB, Dialnet and UVADoc. The journal is indexed by SCOPUS, SCImago, ERIHPlus, SHERPA-RoMEO, Latindex-Catálogo v2.0 and MIAR, and disseminated by Crossref, ÍnDICEs-CSIC, JournalTOCs, and Scilit, among other indexing and abstracting services.

The journal has been awarded the Quality Seal for Spanish Scientific Journals by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) in the 2023 call, with a Mention for Good Editorial Practices in Gender Equality, renewed in 2025.
