The beginnings of journalism in Cuba: an eighteenth-century manuscript ‘noticiero’

The purpose of this paper is to provide evidence of an unpublished documents that could be considered as the first attempt at manuscript journalism in Havana, before the appearance of the first printed newspaper. It describes and analyzes the principal of its rich content, and possible authorship and purpose is suggested. Together, these papers or news from Havana result from a special utility for the history of the Cuban capital and the island in general in the 1770s.
