The ambiguity of the concept of servant was blurred over modern times to be defined as the servant who serves for wages in the early nineteenth century. This paper will try to discover the importance of this sector of the population in Spain between the mid-eighteenth century and early nineteenth century, both in relation to the population and in relation to the labor market and society of this time.
