Abstract

The Press Law of 1966 opened the way to a new era for the Spanish Press after decades of strict censorship. Thanks to it, the last years of Franco's Regime saw a profusion of publications and a new generation of journalists who, despite the liberalising legislation, had many problems with the authorities, even during the first years of the transition to democracy.
