Abstract

Nostalgia in Galician emigration to Switzerland is analysed as an emotion which, like others, has become a commodity in consumer culture from the 1960s to the present day and which plays a role in the historical context of the final phase of the Cold War and the early years of globalisation. Its importance for the idea of the return to the country of origin, holidays and Galician associations and their media channels is discussed. These aspects are related to the influence of Galician nationalism in this emigrant community.
