In the year 1918, Luisa Cuesta Gutiérrez became the first professor in the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of our University, going on to develop an academic activity since then that she will combine with intense research work and also professional work as a librarian. In addition, he always maintained a faithful political commitment to the Second Republic, which brought him much suffering after the Civil War. She was a tireless worker with a great curiosity that led her to be interested in different fields of knowledge ranging from the History of Spain and America to the history of Printing, library science or feminism, which she captured in multiple research papers.
