UGT before the ILO (1975-1985): from the denunciation of the dictatorship to the international approval of the Spanish trade union model

The transition to democracy at the union level has been studied in an eminently national key. The article aims to address the international aspect, through the analysis of the work that UGT developed in the field of the ILO. This action focused on aspects such as stopping the planned union reform of the Franco regime, the use of international channels to achieve a union model compatible with the interests of the socialist central and the achievement of the return of the union assets seized during the Franco regime. His task had an undeniable influence on the union breakdown and democratic stabilization.
