Where to submit articles?
Those interested in publishing in Nudos may submit their manuscripts using this platform. To do so, registration is required through the "Register" tab located at the top right of the website. If already registered, access to the submission of articles is available via the "Login" tab at the top right of the website.
Once on the journal's platform, access the menu on the left under the "My submissions as author" tab to manage the submission. The process begins at the bottom by selecting "Start a new submission."
Initially, it shall be verified that the requirements specified in the "Submission Preparation Checklist" provided on this page are duly met. Subsequently, the submission process begins. In Step 1, submission metadata is entered: title, keywords, and abstract (in both Spanish and English) and the bibliographic references. To do this, select the "Spanish" language in the box at the top of the page and include the data in Spanish; then, select the English language in the same box and enter the data in English. In Step 2, the text of the article is added in Microsoft Word format. Likewise, other files considered relevant for peer review are accepted. It is recommended to deposit supplementary material (such as underlying publication data) in institutional or thematic open-access repositories federated in the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC), linking the articles with the corresponding material through unique and persistent identifiers.
In Step 3, metadata for collaborators is requested. Do not forget to indicate full names and email addresses. The "Affiliation" box must also be completed, indicating the name and postal address of the institution and the academic rank. Furthermore, add the details of the article's collaborators. The order of authorship shall be indicated, with the first being the lead author. In Step 4, identification of supporting agencies or entities that funded the research is requested, along with the project code if applicable; this information will also be published in the Acknowledgments, along with potential comments for the editor. Review the submission in Step 5 and finalize by clicking the "Submit" button at the bottom of the page.
Peer Review
Received works will be sent to two external blind reviewers. Reviews are anonymous for both authors and reviewers. Consequently, to ensure a "blind" evaluation, all indications allowing for the identification of authorship must be avoided in the text and in the submitted filename. Based on the reviewers' reports, the author responsible for the procedures will be notified of the decision and, where applicable, suggested changes.
The procedure to be followed is outlined below. Works that do not conform to the format and editorial standards established by the journal will be returned to the authors for potential modification. Articles that comply with the format and editorial standards will undergo a double evaluation process: initially, the Editorial Committee will perform a selection of the received works, assessing whether they meet the requirements for high-quality academic publications. Subsequently, articles that have passed the first selection will be evaluated anonymously by two experts in the corresponding field of knowledge (double-blind).
This evaluation will be carried out according to the ad hoc template shown in Table 1. Each reviewer will complete the template by assigning a score from 1 to 5 for each criterion along with corresponding observations. An article will be considered positively when the average of all scores exceeds 3. At the end of the process, authors may access the completed information regarding their manuscript.

To maintain anonymity, it is suggested that authors avoid citing themselves in the first person. In the case of contradictory reports, the Editorial Committee will request a third report and subsequently make a decision regarding the publication of the article. The decision of the Editorial Committee shall be final, and will be communicated to the authors within a maximum period of ninety days from the receipt of the work (vacation periods of the designated reviewers are considered non-working days for this calculation). Since the journal commits to conducting the evaluation process in such a short period, and out of consideration for the work of the informants, authors are requested not to submit their article to another journal until the evaluation result is known.
Works with two positive reports will be sent to the authors to carry out potential corrections suggested by the reviewers. Authors have a maximum period of 7 days to return the articles, which will be published when the corrected versions are received. The average evaluation time for articles is currently 60-90 days, starting from the date of confirmation of receipt.
Basic Characteristics or Conditions of Articles
Articles, which must be original and unpublished, may be written in Spanish, English, French, Portuguese, and Italian. They must conform to the template and follow the indications set out below. If any detail is not specified, follow the provisions of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 4th edition (2021) —corresponding to APA Style 7th edition, 2020— hereinafter APA Manual 4th edition.
Since this is a transdisciplinary journal, the submission of different types of articles and writings is accepted —quantitative, qualitative, mixed methods, theoretical, literature reviews, among others— it being necessary to explain and justify the employed methodology with academic rigor. When the research allows, it is recommended to include sex/gender analyses in the different parts of the study and/or take into account potential differences in the conclusions.
It is recommended to follow the following structure whenever the study typology permits:
1. Introduction
2. Material and methods
3. Results
4. Discussion
5. Conclusions
6. Bibliographic references
Length: Articles will have a general length of 10-20 pages, including abstracts, bibliography, tables, footnotes, etc.
Reviews: Reviews may be written in Spanish or English and will have a maximum of 15,000 characters, including spaces. They must conform to the following template: review format.
Title: In Spanish and English. It is recommended to summarize the main idea of the study and avoid the inclusion of abbreviations.
Abstract: Maximum length of 250 words, in Spanish and English.
Keywords: Minimum of three terms, maximum of five terms, in Spanish and English.
Format: Microsoft Word. Font type and size: Times New Roman, 12; single line spacing, strictly following the provided template: article format.
Style: Good research or a dense academic essay is improved if presented with clarity and simplicity. The critique of ideas must be done without belittling other people. The language used must be free of bias, using inclusive and non-sexist language at all times. To this end, use the APA Manual 4th edition where the need to describe the appropriate level of specificity and show sensitivity toward the use of labels is specified; likewise, follow the indications to reduce bias by topics —age, gender, disability, participation in research, racial and ethnic identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic level, and intersectionality.
Structure: The canonical model is the IMRD. Regardless, we understand that there may be writings that do not necessarily have to conform to said scheme.
Tables, Graphics, and Figures: Must be numbered using the “Insert Caption” option in the “References” tab of the Microsoft Word document. Use the format provided by the template —APA Manual 4th edition— where the Table or Figure number appears above it in bold and the title on a double-spaced line, in italics and sentence case below the number. Add the notes considered necessary below the table, graphic, or figure, following the template; also mention the source in this section. Graphic or illustrated content shall be inserted in the corresponding place in the text. The author is responsible for the authorship and originality of the submitted work, confirming that they possess the publication rights for any images included.
Citations: According to the APA Manual 4th edition. For example, depending on the case: (Smith, 2020), (Bourraiud, 2009; Smith, 2020), (Smith, 2020, p. 45), Smith (2020, p. 45). If different texts by the same author published in the same year are cited, they will be distinguished by adding a, b, c, etc., to the year of publication. If they are within a paragraph, they will be highlighted by quotation marks. If in an independent paragraph, in addition to quotation marks, the left side will be indented 0.75 cm.
Reference List: According to the APA Manual 4th edition. Include only the works used in the research and preparation of your writing. Remember to enter the reference list in the first step when completing the submission. Keep in mind:
— Each reference must be separated from the previous one by a blank line.
— Each reference must be on a single line avoiding line breaks. DO NOT use the tags <br>, <br/>, <br />, <p>.
— Do not apply any style as it is not maintained when pasting text into the references field. DO NOT use HTML tags (such as bold <b>, italics <i> or <em>, subscripts , etc.).
— Do not include reference classification titles e.g.: Primary source consulted, secondary source, archives consulted, etc. Leave exclusively the reference list.
Author Contribution: In the case of more than one author, the contribution of each in the preparation of the work shall be indicated, using the system adopted by Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT). To guarantee the anonymity of authors in the peer review phase, the name of the first author shall be replaced by “A”, the second author by “B”, and so on.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) Acknowledgment: In the case that AI tools are employed for the preparation of the article or the study, they must be expressly cited in this section at the end of the article, according to the template.
Other: Pagination by the authors is not necessary, as page numbers will be adjusted after the editorial process of each volume. Footnotes shall be avoided, if possible.
Editorial Process
After carrying out the submission process, receipt will be confirmed via an automated email. In case of not receiving it, contact the editorial team. From this moment, within 30 days you will be informed if your submission will be accepted for subsequent peer review or rejected, including the corresponding reasons.
From this moment, the manuscript will be assigned to two reviewers who will complete the review according to the provided rubric within 30 days.
