Gender relations in judo: an integrative review

The aim of this study was to reflect on gender relations in judo. An integrative literature review was used based on the following databases: SciELO, Lilacs and Scopus. A total of 644 articles were found. However, when adopting the inclusion and exclusion criteria, six articles comprised the analytical corpus of this study. Of the articles included, four were developed in Europe and two in South America, highlighting that discussions on this topic are centered on specific social fields. It is noteworthy that the field of judo is composed mainly of men, reinforcing perceptions that evoke male typifications as central and hegemonic.
