Presentation. Pablo García Colmenares: An example of scientific courage and social commitment

After a brief exposition of my personal relations with Pablo García Colmenares, the investigations of this professor of Contemporary History at the University of Valladolid in the field of Francoist repression are highlighted, emphasizing the book he dedicated to the repression in Dueñas (Repression in a Castilian town in the Francoist rearguard, 2008), where more than a hundred people were murdered, 25 of them women. García Colmenares carries out an exhaustive investigation through two main methods: file analysis and, above all, interviews with descendants of those subjected to reprisals, mainly sons and daughters.
