Recent studies on the Transition to Democracy insist on the complexity of the process and the importance of considering the different pressures that shaped and determined the outcome. In this sense, they place great interest in social movements and their role played in political development. This article follows this line of work, focusing on retiree organizations and their advocacy actions around pensions. This is a novel exercise, since older people do not usually occupy a large space in historiographic studies. For the development of the investigation, it has been used various kinds of sources, essentially archives and newspapers.
