Author Guidelines

ARTICLES: WHERE TO SUBMIT THEM?

People interested in publishing on MariCorners: Revista de Estudios Interdisciplinares LGTBIA+ y queer should submit their texts using this platform.

When submitting an article through this platform, in "Step 3. Entering submission metadata", do not forget to indicate your first and last name and your email address, and include the title of the article, its keywords and its abstracts in Spanish and English, as well as, in the language in which the text is written, if it is neither of these. To do this, select the language "Spanish" in the box that will appear at the top of the page and include the data in Spanish; after that , select the English language in the same box and enter the data in English. You must also fill in the "Affiliation" box, indicating the name and postal address of your institution and your academic position.

PEER REVIEW

The works received will be evaluated using the blind peer-review system. Before submitting an article, it is strongly recommended to review the reviewing guidelines.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

Template: can be downloaded at this link.

Length: Articles must have a length of no more than 8,000 words, including abstracts, bibliography, tables, footnotes, etc. In any case, whenever the topic or focus of a manuscript justifies it, it may be authorized to exceed this limit.

Title: in Spanish and English (in addition to the language in which the article is written, if it is neither of these).

Abstract: maximum length of 250 words, in Spanish and English (in addition to the language in which the article is written, if it is neither of these).

Keywords: maximum five terms, in Spanish and English (in addition to the language in which the article is written, if it is neither of these).

Format: Word for Windows. Font type and size: times new roman, 12; single spacing.

Style: A good piece of research or a dense academic essay improves when it is presented clearly and simply. The critique of ideas should be done without belittling other people.

Structure: the canonical model today is IMRD. However, we understand that there may be writings that do not have to conform to said scheme.

Tables, graphs and figures: they must be numbered before their title.

Author citations: They will follow the APA7 standards. For example, depending on the case: (Elias, 1987), (Elias and Dunning, 1987; Varela, 2000), (Elias, 1987, p. 32), Elias (1987, p. 32). If different texts by the same author published in the same year are cited, they will be distinguished by adding a, b, c, etc. to the year of publication.

When there are two authors, cite them both, always using the 'and'. Use et al. in all citations of a work with three or more authors, provided there is no ambiguity regarding the source.

When there is more than one work cited, order them alphabetically, separated by semicolons.

Quotes of less than 40 words will be inserted within a paragraph and will be highlighted by quotation marks.

             Curabitur "hendrerit nisi vel ante lobortis convallis” (Sparkes and Maher, 1991, p. 23).

If the textual quotation has 40 words or more, it will be written in an independent paragraph, it will go without quotation marks and with an indentation on the left side of 0.75 cm.

Others: footnotes will be avoided, if possible.

BIBLIOGRAPHY

All sources cited in the text must appear in the reference list at the end of the document. It will be indicated in alphabetical order at the end of the article following the APA7 standards, to which the following examples conform:

BIBLIOGRAPHIC REVIEWS

MariCorners: Estudios Interdisciplinares LGTBIA+ y queer will publish in each volume a limited number of bibliographical reviews of notable publications that appeared in the preceding twenty-four months.

The bibliographical reviews section is closed. This means that MariCorners: Revista de Estudios Interdisciplinares LGTBIA+ y queer will not accept the submission of reviews: the Editorial Board will be the one deciding the reviews to be published and the one that entrusts their preparation to specialists of their choice, according to their scientific profile. However, authors or editors may send copies of their bibliographic novelties to the journal to be considered by the Editorial Board. The submission of these copies, which will be incorporated into the Library of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Valladolid, will in no case commit the Editorial Board to the publication of the corresponding review.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • 1. The work is original, unpublished and is not being simultaneously submitted to any other review process for other publications.
  • 2. The author holds the legitimate ownership or the right of use over all the intellectual and industrial property rights corresponding to the contents that are sent for review and possible publication.
  • 3. The author has respected the rules and legislation concerning ethic and moral issues

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the purposes stated by this journal (namely, those relating the processing of manuscripts submitted for publication, their evaluating process, or the distribution of information concerning the published works) and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
