They/them Thinking about queer ethics: Sara Ahmed's proposal

The present article proposes an ethical model for the queer community inspired by the thought of Sara Ahmed, focusing on the role of emotions in the construction of bodies and social relationships. Stating that emotions are not only internal reactions, but performative and relational processes that interact with emotional objects loaded with social and cultural meanings, they are capable of reproducing norms and values, contributing to the perpetuation of systems of discrimination and violence. In the second half, it is reflected the ethical implications of emotions and violence in bodies, proposing a restorative queer ethics focused on healing, forgiveness and the rewriting of history. Upholding the value of forgiveness and respect for grief allows the queer community to heal at their own pace, promoting a more just and compassionate environment, and giving rise to the restoration of a society that is currently in flames.
