This article explores, based on recovering a photo from the family archive, questions about how (post)coloniality affects the ways in which we read and experience the past and, consequently, the stories and bodies that we can see there and recognize in the present. This is related to a reconstruction of the current panorama of LGBTIQA+ Studies that insists on thinking about coloniality as part of that identities, especially on the world' ass. Methodologically, we will use categories such as the “archive of feelings” and “contact writing”, as well as continue an “archaeology of mestizaje”.
